How to prepare for the fair?

Trade fairs are very popular in virtually every sector. They are organized e.g. automotive, food, construction, wedding, interior design, work, tourism, etc. Companies that are related to a given industry can put up a stand during the event. However, this requires a proper action plan. How to prepare for the fair? Check out the guide.

Preparations for the fair - 3 steps you can't skip

Trade fairs are an investment for companies that decide to participate in them. In order for them to turn out to be a good move and help you achieve your goals, you need to be properly prepared for them. It is important to set a goal, prepare an exhibition stand and promotional materials, and ensure that the company is represented by competent and empathetic representatives. We suggest how to do it to present yourself well during the event.

Specify the goal

Trade fairs can provide a number of benefits. However, you should start with setting a goal. This will be helpful not only in choosing the right events to attend, but also in properly preparing for them. The most common goals include:

  • building brand recognition,
  • reaching new customers,
  • presenting your offer in the best possible way,
  • networking
  • creating a brand image and spreading its values,
  • building positive associations with the brand among recipients,
  • establishing business contacts,
  • getting to know opinions about the company.

So think about what you want to achieve by participating in the fair. Set the main goal and secondary goals. It will be difficult to implement them all during one event, but by participating in various fairs and taking other marketing activities, you can achieve success.

Prepare the stand and select materials

Professional presentation of the company during trade fairs requires an appropriate setting. An important role is played by the exhibition stand, which is the company's showcase at the event - it attracts recipients, allows for the preparation of marketing materials (e.g. photo report, video material) and allows for a functional presentation of the offer. You can read more about this in our blog post: How to create an exhibition stand.

An important aspect is also taking care of appropriate advertising materials or elements that attract the attention of visitors. A popular choice are for example indoor advertising standswhich can be adapted to the needs of the company or the type of stand. Often they can also be a great attraction of the fair - e.g. an effective photo wall referring to the brand's activities, against which the participants of the event will be able to take photos and later tag the company on their social media channels can help achieve marketing goals.

Of course, it is also worth taking business cards, leaflets or various types of brochures and catalogs with you to the fair. They can be displayed on appropriately selected ones advertising flyer stands.

Complete the team

A perfectly prepared exhibition stand and effective and well-thought-out marketing materials are not everything. The team that participates in the fair and represents the company also plays a very important role. Firstly, hands can be useful for physical work, i.e. transporting and setting up the stand.

Secondly, it is very important to develop all promotional materials. A creative team will come in handy here, they will create projects and come up with a concept of how to present the company during the event.

Thirdly, competent representatives of the company will be invaluable support in the implementation of the assumed goals. They answer visitors' questions, present the company's offer and convey its values, establish business relationships or prepare a report for the website, company blog or social media.
